Value of 5,000 Kenya Shillings yesterday……….today………and tomorrow

I received this on email, very interesting the way money is loosing value.

Did you know that Ksh. 5,000 in……………

40 years ago one could buy a car
20 years ago one could buy a motor bike
5 years ago a bicycle
Currently (2007) a pair of shoes
What will it buy in 5 years to come?

A Needle!

(and the economy is growing)

By the way, families in Zimbambwe are now buying lots of sacks (tu-gunias) to keep in the house. That's because a loaf of bread in Zimbambwe costs 200,000 Z - dollars.....and you need a small ka-gunia to carry the money to the shop. God forbid if you decide to do a month's shopping!!...because I hope you remembered to komboa a lorry in Kariobangi.
